Questions from friends and family needing help with planning dilemmas for personal, school, church or work events have always been part of Leigh Crank Perry’s everyday life. 

She has been practicing the art of entertaining since the Cinderella costume party she helped her mother give to celebrate her eighth birthday. That introduction to the excitement of executing festive party themes set her on the path she has followed enthusiastically ever since.

This path led Leigh to plan an elaborate Wild West costume party with a friend at age 12.  This carefully researched, long-anticipated event featured a WANTED poster invitation with a hand-drawn picture of each guest, swinging cardboard saloon doors, music and food authentic to the 1880’s, and sarsaparilla mug favors, bought lovingly with saved allowance money.

From there, it was a direct shot to being dance and prom decorations chairman and serving in many other similar positions at work and at church.  After college and graduate school, Leigh taught high school English before taking a position as a church administrative assistant after her children were born.
  
Motherhood gave Leigh more reasons to celebrate—she loved giving large backyard birthday bashes for her preschool sons.  One memorable celebration was an “arty party.” All the preschool Monets wore men’s shirt smocks and white painters’ hats and went to multiple activity stations to try different painting projects.  They hung their finished paintings on a line to dry and to decorate the yard for their parents’ viewing while refreshments were served.

As Leigh’s children grew up, so did many new opportunities to be a creative entertainer-- as a volunteer at her sons’ schools and at her church and through her work, in addition to those at her workplace.

All of these events have helped Leigh hone her creative party-giving skills, and she looks forward to sharing them with you.  Designing a thoughtful theme and creative partyscape is a way of showing your guests that they are very special to you.
